Telescoping Time

Two birthdays (mine, Eli’s) and Independence Day in one week. Entering the second half of summer. In less than two weeks we begin our cross-country road trip–three weeks long. When we get back we’ll catch the tail-end of the County Fair, and then school will be beginning for all of us (now Wendy has become a school secretary).

I feel I should be song-writing. I really haven’t done any of that this summer. But the CD is nearly done. In fact, I may see the completion of the audio portion tomorrow, when I go into Flying Whale to do the final mix on the last six songs…if things go as planned. The rest of the CD (art work, etc.) is well underway. Kathryn Young is helping me with it. She made a mock-up a few days ago, which has most of the elements in place. She’s busy the next several days, and so the revisions have to wait…which is aggravating.

Meanwhile I have a hundred things I could be doing, songwriting being only one of them.

I’m listening to the final mix of 8 songs. I’m supposed to do this, looking for anything that’s not just so. So far, so good. I think this will be a fantastic album.
