Letl’s Call it a Draw

Song #1. I recorded it in Garage Band, converted it to an mp3, and tried to save it in Opendrive, but something’s not working, so send me a request and I’ll email you the mp3. Anyway, just a tad past midnight on the 1st day of this challenge, song #1.

Let’s Call it a Draw(c) by Tom Wernigg [6/13]

I was sitting at the bar, with with my face in a jar
Passing time with my favorite stool
When I saw her in the back leaning over a table
playing a little game called pool

I ordered a whisky and paid my tab
Lined up my quarters on the rail
When my turn came she hadn’t lost a game
The crowd was begging me to fail

So I  racked ’em up, and she knocked ’em down
then she nearly ran the table dry
She sank six balls, then she finally scratched
And I finally had a reason to sigh

I started with a bank, and a two rail combo
and I sank two more with a kick
I lined up the eight for a corner pocket
I was pulling back my stick…she said

Chorus
let’s call it a draw
Why don’t we call it a draw
If you win here I’m gonna disappear, and you’ll never see me no more
Let’s take that money to the Motel 6
If you want me you better act quick
I’m hungry for love, so put away that stick
Why Don’t we Call it a Draw

I’m speeding down the turnpike to drop off the kids
It’s the weekend they go to my “Ex”
I’m ten minutes late, she was out on a date
One thing just leads to the next

So she’s calling me lazy, I’m calling her crazy
We’re yelling at the top of our lungs
I see our little girl starting to cry
says Daddy we’re not having fun…

Chorus
So let’s call it a draw
Why don’t we call it a draw
We’ve been doing this dance for 15 years, and we could do it for 15 more
Or we could stop the madness once and for all
Bury the hatchet, then let the chips fall
There are no clear winners in love or war, so
Why Don’t we Call it a Draw
